Application: Reagent for N-protection with the TBSO-ethyl group. Treatment with Jones reagent effects hydrolysis and concomitant oxidation leading to Nc-acetic acids for further synthetic elaboration. Useful reagent for the Pd-catalyzed N-hydroxyalkylation reactions.
